Pottery wheels, slab roller, work tables, locker storage, drying racks, glazes and kiln firings...it's yours to utilize. The Studio will be open for independent study during scheduled hours.

Pottery Foundations Workshop ( 16+ Years )Have you never made pottery before? This morning workshop will be perfect for you to get started. Learn two fundamentals of clay hand-building (pinch pot and slab rolling), while making a maraca in animal shape and a succulent planter. Step-by-step instructions as well as basic explanation on pottery making will be provided. Finished pieces will be underglazed at the end of workshop and will be ready for your pickup within a week.
All supplies (including clay) are provided. Participation in this workshop entitles you to access the Open Pottery Studio for 1 week.
(In case of a snow closure on January 4 the make-up date is January 11. Same time and place.)

Drawing and Sketching ( 14+ Years )
Good drawing skills are the foundation of great art and being able to sketch enables exploration of your artistic ideas in quick studies. Plus, drawing and sketching are just great fun! This class will focus in beginning drawing techniques and other important things such as being able to judge proportion and perspective, indicate texture and movement, and reduce your subject to abstract shapes for an accurate representation of your ideas. This class will introduce students to the elements and principles of art including topics such as line, shape, form, texture, and rythm. A variety of mediums and materials will be used in the exploration of artistic ideas. Artists and art history will also be woven into the lessons.
