Creative Dramatics Performance Camp ( 7-13 Years )

Be a part of the creative team to produce a play in five days! Together we will improvise and brainstorm to decide the subject, dialogue, costumes and sets that will be in our original play. Friday performance for family and friends! (Snacks will be provided. Students must bring sack lunch each day.) Instructed by Stephen Branch.

Beginning Wheel Throwing (Saturday) ( 16+ Years )

Satisfy your curiosity, and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting class. Your instructor guides you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students with little or no experience on the potter’s wheel. All students must purchase clay separately (available at the Dahl while supplies last). Participation in this class entitles you to access the Open Pottery Studio during enrollment. This class satisfies one of the prerequisite requirements of Open Pottery Studio. Class instructed by Victoria Caudill.

Date Night Clay - June ( 16+ Years )

Bring a friend and try something new and different on a Saturday night! Our instructor gives you an introduction to the basic steps of working on the pottery wheel and then turns you loose to make your own pots. Wear or bring clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and show up ready to have some fun! Tools are provided, as well as 5lbs of clay perperson. Each student gets to keep one of their pots from the evening, which our expert staff will glaze and fire for you. Your creations can be picked up about 2 weeks after your class. Cost is $65.00 for two. Instructed by Victoria Caudill.

Explore and create works with the genre of Pop Art. Beginning in the 1950s, artists began finding inspiration in images and concepts from the media and popular culture, rather than from traditional and classical themes. Pop artists aimed to bring popular culture into the realm of “fine art.” Learn more about the motives behind the movement and the artists it began with, like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Yayoi Kusama and create your own pop art inspired works! Instructed by Katie Wolff.

Sculpting Camp ( 7-13 Years )

Explore the world of clay sculpture with our Sculpture Camp! We will start off with basic shapes and figures making 2d models, and work our way up to building 3 dimensional characters! Your campers will learn different slab, carving and clay building techniques as well as learning about and how to use clay shaping tools while making fun and interesting projects. We will finish the week making a ceramic sculpture of their own design and subject matter using all the tricks and tips they learned along the way!  Instructed by Kerry Jackson.
